Disclosure: Sherdil E-Learning offers the Urdu-medium AWS Cloud Practitioner course referenced in this guide. All exam details come from aws.amazon.com/certification. Salary data is cited to Rozee.pk and LinkedIn Pakistan active listings, Q2 2026.
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (exam code CLF-C02) is the single most cost-effective first credential a Pakistani IT professional can earn in 2026. It is the entry point into the AWS certification ladder, needs no prior cloud experience, and lands on the CV as a vendor-recognised badge that hiring managers actively filter for. The one thing that stops most Pakistani candidates from taking it is not the material; it is the language gap. English-only prep courses force learners to translate cloud concepts and English technical vocabulary at the same time, which doubles the effort.
This guide covers everything a Pakistani beginner needs to sit and pass CLF-C02 with Urdu-medium preparation: the full exam blueprint, current price in PKR, realistic study time, exam booking steps in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, expected salary after passing, and where our Sherdil AWS Cloud Practitioner course in Urdu fits into the picture.
What the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification actually is
CLF-C02 is AWS's Foundational-tier certification. It validates that you understand the AWS Cloud value proposition, core services, basic security, billing and pricing models, and support tiers at a conceptual level. It does not require hands-on architecture skills or coding, which is why it works so well as a first credential for career-switchers and fresh graduates.
The certification is valid for three years. After that, you renew by passing the current version of the exam or by passing any higher-tier AWS certification, which automatically extends the CLF-C02 validity as well.

CLF-C02 syllabus: what the exam actually tests
AWS publishes a detailed exam guide that splits the CLF-C02 content into four domains, each with a fixed weight. Study time should match those weights.
Domain |
Weight |
What it covers |
Cloud concepts |
24% |
Benefits of the AWS Cloud, cloud economics, well-architected principles |
Security and compliance |
30% |
Shared responsibility model, IAM basics, encryption, compliance frameworks, AWS security services |
Cloud technology and services |
34% |
Compute (EC2, Lambda), storage (S3, EBS), databases (RDS, DynamoDB), networking (VPC), monitoring (CloudWatch), core services overview |
Billing, pricing, and support |
12% |
Pricing models (On-Demand, Reserved, Savings Plans, Spot), AWS Free Tier, billing tools, AWS Support plans, AWS Trusted Advisor |
Cloud technology and services is the largest domain by weight, so most study time should go to core services. Security and compliance is the second-heaviest and the domain most first-time candidates underprepare for. Do not skip the Shared Responsibility Model and the IAM basics; questions on those two topics appear on almost every attempt.
The current full exam guide is available at aws.amazon.com/certification/certified-cloud-practitioner. Always check it before you book, in case AWS revises the blueprint.
CLF-C02 cost in Pakistan: exam fee plus training
The exam fee itself is 100 USD, which converts to roughly PKR 28,000 at the Q2 2026 rate of around 280 PKR per USD. That is the vendor list price and is paid to Pearson VUE when you book the exam. Training and practice materials sit on top.

A realistic Urdu-medium path from zero to certified sits between PKR 47,000 and PKR 57,000: Sherdil course, one Tutorials Dojo practice set, exam fee, and a small AWS Free Tier overrun. Skipping the practice exam saves PKR 4,200 in the short run but costs PKR 28,000 if you fail and have to rebook; the practice set is close to a mandatory investment.

Study plan: how long CLF-C02 actually takes in Urdu
Sherdil cohort averages from 2025 place first-attempt passers at roughly five weeks of part-time study. Compressing that timeline to under two weeks correlates with roughly twice the first-attempt failure rate. The plan below assumes one to two hours per day, six days per week.
Week |
Focus |
Week 1 |
Cloud concepts and the AWS global infrastructure. Watch the Sherdil intro modules in Urdu, sign up for AWS Free Tier, complete one guided EC2 walkthrough. |
Week 2 |
Compute (EC2, Lambda), storage (S3, EBS), and databases (RDS, DynamoDB). Deploy a static site on S3 and stop it the same day. |
Week 3 |
Networking (VPC), security fundamentals (IAM users, groups, roles, policies), and Shared Responsibility Model. Create your own VPC with a public subnet. |
Week 4 |
Pricing models, Free Tier boundaries, AWS Billing tools, Trusted Advisor, Support plans. Review Cloud Quest labs on Skill Builder. |
Week 5 |
Tutorials Dojo full-length practice exams. Aim to score 85%+ on two consecutive practice sets before booking the real exam. Weak-area review the day before. |
The single practice observation that predicts a first-attempt pass more than any other, from cohorts we have tracked at Sherdil, is scoring 85 percent or higher on two consecutive Tutorials Dojo practice exams before booking. Book only when you hit that threshold; delay a week if you do not.
Booking the CLF-C02 exam from Pakistan
Booking is a three-step process handled between the AWS Certification portal and Pearson VUE.
Step 1: Create your AWS Certification account
Sign up at the AWS Certification portal with your legal name exactly as it appears on the government-issued photo ID you will bring to the exam. Middle names must match. A CNIC or passport is acceptable for the ID check.
Step 2: Pick a test centre or OnVUE online
Pearson VUE operates authorised test centres in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi. For a first proctored exam, the physical test centre is the lower-friction choice. OnVUE lets you sit from home with a webcam, mic, and quiet private room, cheaper on travel time but with a stricter environment check.
Step 3: Pay with an internationally enabled Pakistani card
The 100 USD exam fee is charged to your Visa or MasterCard. Enable international transactions on the card through your bank's app before booking. Cards from Habib Bank, UBL, Meezan, Bank Alfalah, and Standard Chartered all work reliably for this transaction.
Book slots through the Pearson VUE AWS certification portal. Popular slots book two to three weeks out, so reserve early.
AWS Cloud Practitioner salary in Pakistan (2026)
CLF-C02 on its own is an entry-level credential and produces entry-level salary bands. The real financial return comes from what it opens up: interviews for cloud roles that previously filtered your CV out, plus a stepping-stone to the Associate certifications that pay meaningfully more.
Role after CLF-C02 |
Pakistan (PKR/month) |
Remote international (USD/month) |
Cloud Support Associate |
80,000 – 150,000 |
$1,500 – $2,500 |
Cloud Systems Administrator (junior) |
100,000 – 180,000 |
$2,000 – $3,000 |
Junior DevOps Engineer |
120,000 – 200,000 |
$2,500 – $4,000 |
Cloud Sales / Pre-Sales Associate |
150,000 – 300,000+ |
$3,000 – $5,000 |
Ranges are drawn from active listings on Rozee.pk and LinkedIn Pakistan in Q2 2026, and USD figures are cross-checked against the Stack Overflow Developer Survey 2025 for remote cloud roles. Pakistani candidates with CLF-C02 plus a small GitHub portfolio consistently outperform candidates with only academic qualifications when applying for these entry roles.

What to do after passing CLF-C02
The Foundational credential is the first step, not the destination. Two natural paths open from here.
If you want to build depth in AWS, move next to Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C03) or Developer Associate (DVA-C02). Both are 150 USD exams, and you can use the 50 percent recertification voucher you receive after passing CLF-C02 to bring the next exam down to 75 USD. Solutions Architect Associate is the more employable of the two for generalist cloud roles.
If you want to break into DevOps, use CLF-C02 as your cloud foundation and add Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform on top. Most Pakistani DevOps job listings expect all four of these together at the junior level. Our DevOps Engineer Course sequences these in the order Pakistani hiring managers ask about them.
Common mistakes Pakistani candidates make on CLF-C02
From five cohorts of Urdu-medium AWS students at Sherdil in 2025 and early 2026, four mistakes explain the majority of first-attempt failures. Avoiding these lifts your pass probability meaningfully.
The first is booking the exam before scoring 85 percent on practice sets. Confidence from watching lecture videos is not the same as being ready. Practice-exam performance is the honest signal. If you are not consistently at 85 percent on two consecutive Tutorials Dojo full-length sets, delay the booking by a week and rework the weak domains.
The second is underweighting the security domain. Security and compliance carry 30 percent of the marks, second only to core services. Candidates who spent most of their study on EC2, S3, and RDS but breezed past IAM and the Shared Responsibility Model consistently lost enough points in the security domain to fail overall.
The third is skipping hands-on Free Tier practice. CLF-C02 is a conceptual exam with no live console tasks, but the questions frequently describe scenarios (a company wants X, which service solves it?). Candidates who had never opened the EC2 or S3 console struggled to picture the scenario and picked wrong answers more often.
The fourth is ID mismatch on exam day. The name on your AWS Certification account must match your CNIC or passport exactly, including middle names. We have seen well-prepared candidates turned away at Pearson VUE for name mismatches that took weeks to resolve through AWS support. Check the name field before you book, not on the day of the exam.
Frequently asked questions
Is the AWS Cloud Practitioner exam available in Urdu?
No. AWS delivers CLF-C02 in English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and a few other languages, but not Urdu. What you can do in Urdu is prepare: Sherdil's Urdu course teaches every concept in Urdu first, then bridges to the English technical vocabulary you will see on exam day.
How much does AWS Cloud Practitioner cost in Pakistan?
The exam fee is 100 USD, roughly PKR 28,000 at the Q2 2026 exchange rate. Add a paid Urdu course (PKR 15,000 to PKR 25,000 at Sherdil) plus a Tutorials Dojo practice set (about PKR 4,200), and total spend from zero to certified sits between PKR 47,000 and PKR 57,000.
How long does it take to prepare for CLF-C02?
Around five weeks of part-time study (one to two hours per day, six days per week) produces reliable first-attempt passers in our cohorts. Full-time study compresses this to two to three weeks. Candidates who book the exam earlier than four weeks in fail at roughly twice the cohort baseline.
Do I need programming experience for CLF-C02?
No. CLF-C02 is a conceptual exam. There are no coding questions, no live console tasks, and no requirement for a CS degree. Hands-on Free Tier practice helps the concepts stick, but no coding is involved.
What salary can I expect after passing CLF-C02?
Entry-level cloud roles in Pakistan for CLF-C02 holders pay PKR 80,000 to PKR 200,000 per month depending on the role and employer. Remote international roles paying in USD start higher and are actively hired for by companies in the US, UK, and UAE.
Can I take the exam from home in Pakistan?
Yes. OnVUE online proctoring lets you sit from home with a laptop, webcam, microphone, quiet private room, and a government photo ID. The setup requirements are strict, so most first-time candidates find a physical Pearson VUE test centre in Karachi, Lahore, or Islamabad more predictable.
What happens if I fail the exam?
You can retake it after a 14-day waiting period at the full 100 USD fee. There is no cap on the number of attempts. The best cost-avoidance move is the Tutorials Dojo practice set: passing on the first attempt saves the cost of a retake many times over.
Is CLF-C02 recognised by Pakistani employers?
Yes. AWS certifications are vendor credentials that most local and international employers recognise directly. CLF-C02 in particular is often listed as a filter criterion in Pakistani cloud job postings on Rozee.pk and LinkedIn.
